Bamboo can be harvested up to 20 times in the amount of time needed for just one harvest of some common hardwoods. Bamboo release 35% more oxygen into the atmosphere than comparably-sized stands of trees and some of the over 1500 types of bamboo can sequester up to 12 tons of carbon dioxide from the air per hectare
Mature harvest bamboo - bamboo should be harvested every 5-6 years in order to maintain the health of the grove to continue to produce many generations of plants without replanting.

Hydrocarbons as well as common additives in adhesives or solvents like formaldehyde are VOC. Bamboo products should, at minimum, meet the strict European E1 standards for indoor air quality.
